Mission Statement:

The Cardinal Hayes High School Alumni Track Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping inner-city youth develop character, discipline, and teamwork through athletics and education. The Association was founded in 1993 by former members of the Cardinal Hayes H.S. cross-country and track teams who know from personal experience that running track teaches valuable life lessons that can lay a foundation for future professional and personal success. To help today's inner-city youth succeed as well, the Association supports programs and activities that promote athletic and educational excellence among students at Cardinal Hayes H.S. in the South Bronx and other inner-city schools. In particular, the Association has, among other things, organized a widely-attended annual indoor track meet for New York City high schools and the annual freshman field day at Cardinal Hayes H.S.; supplied much-needed uniforms, shoes and travel assistance to high school runners; donated start-up funds for fledging track teams at inner-city grammar schools; and provided financial assistance to deserving but poor students at Cardinal Hayes H.S. The Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization registered with the IRS that receives funding from its members, corporate matching gift programs, and other available resources.
